Luna
Luna, is the Spanish word for moon. Luna was the first animal character; the first animal to talk; and, the first animal to turn into human form in Sailormoon. So, naturally, there is tons of stuff to say about her. Luna is a talking black cat. She is an alien from the plant Mau, her mate is Artemis, a white cat, and her daughter is Diana. Luna's mission was to seek out the Sailorsenshi (Princesses of the Silver Millenium) and the Moon Princess. After she found Sailormoon (the second Sailorsenshi) on Earth, she started to train her, and gave her a henshin or transformation broach. Luna trains Sailormoon and is always with her to point her in the right direction. As Luna found more senshi and trained them, she set up a connection with and unknown person (it turns out to be Artemis) at the Crown Game Center. Luna's human form is finally achieved when Sailormoon and the senshi battled Snow Kaguya in manga #11 and the Super movie. She was in love with Oozora Kakeru and wanted to be human to talk to him. She took on her human form with the help of the Ginzuishou or Silver Crystal. In her human form she became Kakeru's Princess Kaguya. Artemis Artemis is the most famous name for the Moon Goddess. Artemis is a talking white cat and an alien from the planet Mau. His mate is Luna, and his daughter is Diana. His mission was to seek out the Sailorsenshi (Princesses of the Silver Millenium) and the Moon Princess. After he found SailorV (Sailorvenus, the first Sailorsenshi) on Earth, he started to train her, and gave her "Boss", a henshin pen and a cresent moon compact. Artemis trains SailorV and is always with her. He set up contact with Luna through the Crown Game Center's SailorV video game.
Artemis's human form was first achieved (manga version only) while trying to save Minako (Sailorvenus)
from a terrible fall. A boulder landed on top of him nearly crushing him to death. The power of love & friendship between Minako and Artemis
turned him into a human and he lifted Minako to safety.
Diana arrives from the future. She was Chibiusa's friend in the 30th Century Crystal Palace in Crystal Tokyo. Like her parents, Diana also has a human form (manga version only). In this form, Diana looks about the same size as Chibiusa.
As with every new arrival, there also comes trouble. This time Luna is jealous
of Diana and Artemis, and there is a deja vu feeling which we relate to the
Chibiusa-Usagi-Mamoru triangle.
