I've been working a lot recently. I've come to find out I'm considered one of -if not the- strongest people working there (strongest in terms of focus and work ethic). I suppose that's why they made me a "beauty advisor" (come to find out we aren't called 'cosmeticians' anymore), the most important person at the front of the store. If I play my cards right I can become the "senior beauty advisor" which means I'll be in charge of the other lady that works over in my section (most of the time she's off in la-la land... seriously, who buys a tiny bottle of water for 99 cents when you can get 10 times as much water for the same price just by picking a different brand... honestly, and it's not like she has a truck load of cash to blow on things like that). SO... that's my short term goal for this month and next... ranking up and getting a pay raise. GO ME.

This evening I dyed my hair black. No, not jet black, "natural black." Tomorrow... HAIR CUT! I hate to say it... I really do, because I dislike the person I need to use as an example, but a slightly different variation on this hair-do, is what I'll be going for. Oh yea, and when I say I disliked the person, OF COURSE I ment Christina, NOT Kyla. We love Kyla! :) There's a pic of my new hair color in the cam archive... but don't bother until tomorrow night, that's when you'll get to see the whole new do. Wee... exciting.

I'm on my way to applying to Pratt Institute (of Art & Design) in New York, I'll be getting my huge packet of materials to do so in a few weeks!

I think I'll start a seperate journal for my cosmetics talk, because to be honest... I'm not really that person. My "beauty advisor" persona is just for work... but I'm so into my job it carries over to my journal.

One more thing... HURRAY! I've been working on my book again! This time I'm having Adam look it over for me. Who knows, eventually I might even have him edit the shizzle out of it. Which reminds me, if you have any writing that needs editting, click on his name right there! I can vouch for his skills, no one's better (to my knowledge) and you can't go wrong with someone who's nearly bilingual. Oh yea! I get hits from France if I remember correctly (because of my personal profile), ask him about editting for French language things too, he could probably hook you up.

Suddenly, at work, I'm now head of our cosmetics department (sorta). As my manager puts it "We need a strong leader for cosmetics. You did really great with the reset and planos we gave you, you seem good at knowing what corperate wants. And anyway, Annie likes you." (Annie is the beauty advisor sent out by corperate to make sure things run smoothly at all the units).

Misia, Sammy, Bug, Tommy, and Nog all have fleas... and possibly Puska. But not to worry, they don't seem to be itching, and humans can't catch fleas. Maybe this will put a delay on Ben (our newest roomate) on bringing his cat over. That's right, if Ben moves in officially before we find good homes for three of the kittens, we have three adult cats and four kittens in the house. That's a lot of work.

This week will find me searching for and applying to design schools in NYC, as well as seeing if I can transfer stores while keeping my full-time senior beauty advisor (lead cosmetian) status. Actually... maybe I'll make that part-time. I don't think I could deal with college AND full-time employment. But I digress... If that pans out, and we manage to save our money rather than spend it on crap we don't need we will be moving to NYC by mid~late August. Which is great because I'm really at the end of my rope with Nashville. Nice place to visit... NEVER live here.

I wanted to include a paragraph about this awesome new hair stuff I'm using (John Frieda beach blonde ocean waves sea spray texturizing styler... it's for blondes, but I'm cheating!)... but it's late, and no one cares.

At some point, recently, I became a makeup addict. This might not seem all that strange considering I'm female, but at the current moment I'm owner of more pieces of makeup than I have had my entire life. Until just recently the total would have been two Cover Girl face powder compacts and three brown L'Oreal retractable eyeliners... and a few lipsticks purchased for various dances and proms. Now I own... well, why don't I just open up my makeup bag and list what's in there. YUKI did it, so can I:

Wet 'n' Wild Oil-Free Foundation, Bare
Physicians Formula "Virtual" Multi Refective Face Powder, A
   Physicians Formula "Virtual" Eyeshadow, Eye-Tech
Cover Girl Pressed Powder, Classic Ivory
   Milani Double Impact Blush, #04
   Maybelline Lash Discovery, Soft Black
L'Oreal Automatic Eyeliner, Espresso and Sea Green
Kohl Kajal Eyeliner, White and Brown
Maybelline Wet Shine Lip Gloss, Nude Glow and Ice Princess
... and various other makeup and hair things...

Ok, so it's not A LOT, a lot, but it's more than I've ever had. I also bought my first... what do you call these anyway?... Well anyway, I bought an issue of Glamour, and liked it.
